Nathalie Atkinson

Nathalie Atkinson is an award-winning Canadian culture journalist. Her writing has appeared widely, including CNN Style, Vulture, and BBC Culture and she is a regular contributor to The Globe and Mail and Zoomer (where among other things, she interviews authors and writes the popular monthly fiction column). She was previously an arts reporter and culture columnist at the National Post, as well as the newspaper’s award-winning Style & Design editor, and is the creator and host of the long running monthly film series “Designing the Movies” at Toronto’s historic Revue Cinema.

In film criticism, columns or think pieces, Nathalie’s work explores art and design at the intersection of culture and commerce, an ever-changing vocabulary that expresses ideas and attitudes about life, wealth, class and sex. Whether she’s assessing the political undercurrents of design, or lamenting the lack of good female superhero comics, it’s with trademark candour, analysis, historical perspective and wit.
