Men’s Accessories Won the 2025 Oscars

From bedazzled brooches to unexpected ties, these celebs proved that we’re entering a new era of menswear on the red carpet.

As we arrive at the end of the 2025 award show season, we here at FASHION would like to extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude to Academy Award-Nominee Colman Domingo.

Well before statues were being assigned, tears were being shed and moms and agents were being thanked, it was already shaping up to be an exciting year for menswear on the red carpet. Timothée Chalamet was trying to make scarves happen for A Complete Unknown. Paul Mescal showed some major skin in his short shorts during his Gladiator II off-days. Daniel Craig got a Loewe makeover just, well, because. But then the Sing Sing actor entered the Oscars chat, and the style game forever changed.

At 2025 Golden Globes — largely considered the ceremonial start to the year’s awards season— Domingo arrived in a flamboyant Valentino suit. Punctuated by an oversized bow and cummerbund, the outfit went viral the instant @checkthetag put it on their Instagram feed. It was then and there that Domingo was (rightfully!) christened the fashionable man of the moment and by doing so essentially declared a sartorial war on his male counterparts. And we’re so glad we did!

Not wanting to be overshadowed by the snazzy dresser, from then onwards, Domingo’s fellow nominees and colleagues upped their men’s jewellery and style game. At the Critics Choice Awards, Wicked director Jon Chu sported a brown turtleneck. At the SAG Awards, Timmy wore a bolo tie with his Matrix-level leather suit. At the BAFTAs, Jeremy Strong went full loud luxury and showed up in a fur coat. Then it all culminated in a 2025 Oscars red carpet that was chock-full of whimsical accessories like bedazzled brooches, tantalizing ties and woah-worthy watches, led of course, by Colman Domingo.

Below, we’ve rounded up the most fun, unexpected and daring menswear accents of the night.

Who needs a bowtie when a brooch is an option? Proving the classic clip is not just for grandmothers and elder aunts but sartorial superstars, the 2025 Oscars red carpet was a parade of pins for Hollywood’s most talked about talent. Highlights of the men’s jewellery included Colman Domingo in a ribbon-like Valentino Garavani clip, Jeff Goldblum sporting a green and purple boutonniere and Adrien Brody taking home gold in a diamond bird brooch.

Timothée Chalamet in Givenchy and Cartier

Why wear just one Cartier watch when you have the choice to wear two? Or so was the thought of Timothée Chalamet, who was spotted sporting two tiny timepieces on his wrist. However, apart from the Best Actor nominee, the rest of the wristwatches on the red carpet were noticeably more demure — think understated elegance that still (quietly) scream luxury. Omega’s Speedmaster and De Ville stylers were a particularly favourite amongst the male glitterati, as seen on Domingo, Kieran Culkin, Ben Stiller and Denis Villeneuve.

Experimental Ties

Paul Tazewell

Did Paul Tazewell wear the best tie of the night? Possibly. But it certainly was the most tie. The Academy Award winner of Best Costume Design for his work on Wicked channelled his inner Dr. Dillamond (IYKYK) and sported a cravat that toed the line between classic and campy. Also included in the necktie brigade was Jeremy Strong in an unexpected Loro Piana neckwear, Omar Apollo in a Valentino scarf, Edvin Ryding in a Scotsman-like sash, and Jeremy Pope in not one but six Balmain bows.

Rowoon in Tiffany & Co.

As a Hollywood A-lister you have to be ready to be photographed from all angles — especially when awards are involved! To be sure their fingers were camera-ready, many men opted for a row of rings on the 2025 Oscars red carpet. Robert Downey Jr. and Rowoon both stunned in stacks of Tiffany & Co. bands. Kieran Culkin stayed true to his accessory-enthusiast roots with silver digit decorations. Even the usually conservative Joe Alwyn rocked a rock, or two.
