Chanel’s Spring 2026 show is a modern take on tweed, pearls and…the solar system? Makes sense—Matthieu Blazy’s first collection is otherworldly.
The last of fifteen creative director debuts at fashion month, all eyes were on Blazy. Industry experts, fashion lovers and Chanel devotees alike have been daydreaming about how this much-anticipated show would go. The verdict? It was stellar.

Set against a celestial backdrop of hanging planets, the runway took viewers to a whole other universe. At first glance, some elements might seem familiar: fringe, blazers and a smattering of pearls—unmistakeable Chanel details were ever-present.
However, Blazy tapped into a new dimension, taking pages from Gabrielle Chanel’s love story with Boy Capel and turning them wearable. Billowing volume, masculine cuts and pops of red added depth to existing house codes. Signature tweed seamlessly blended into trompe l’oeil beadwork. The iconic 2.55 was reimagined, a supernova suspended on a chain strap.
Following in the footsteps of Virginie Viard, Karl Lagerfeld and Gabrielle Chanel herself, expectations ran impossibly high for the new creative director of the house. But one thing’s for certain: Blazy has mastered the rules and read up on the references—but he’s ready to reinvent them.
