Smythe Celebrates Its 20th Anniversary + More Fashion News
Plus, Holt Renfrew collabs with Eleventy on a menswear capsule collection.
The Smythe 20th Anniversary collection is here
Black isn’t normally considered a celebratory colour, but Smythe is hoping to change that with the release of its 20th anniversary collection. In honour of the Canadian brand’s birthday, founders Andrea Lenczner and Christie Smythe designed six garments using a dark monochromatic palette. The line — titled XX— is meant to spotlight Smythe’s spectacular structure and dedication to tailoring and features everything from a blazer dress to a jumpsuit. You’re sure to find an elevated black basic that’s anything but boring.
Jimmy Choo arrives at Royalmount
As the Jimmy Choo Fall 2024 collection proves, you can never have too many pairs of shoes. See the mesh Carolyn Mary Janes, the Scarlett kitten heels and the Biker II boots, just to name a few. You can now shop all of these styles and more at Jimmy Choo’s first boutique in Montreal, located in the new Royalmount development. Come for the soft glam interior and shimmering surfaces, and stay for the made-to- order service that invites guests to create their dream shoe or handbag. How do you say “shoe heaven” in French?
Holt Renfrew creates a capsule with Eleventy
Succession may be long over, but stealth wealth certainly isn’t. Enter Eleventy’s exclusive menswear “Carbon Capsule” collection at Holt Renfrew. Fashion director Joseph Tang worked directly with the Italian brand’s co-founder Marco Baldassari on the 13 styles, telling FASHION they were inspired by “retro tailoring” and a “carbon colour palette” as seen on the men’s runways. Consider the offering Kendall Roy-approved.
By The Namesake expands their ready-to-wear collection
As any good fashionista knows, there’s leather and then there’s leather. And By The Namesake definitely falls into the latter category. Now you can (finally!) wear the Canadian brand head to toe with the expansion of their ready-to-wear collection. Think lace-up lamb-leather pants, strapless mini and midi dresses, demure corsets and so much more. Check it out for yourself at the By The Namesake pop-up at Holt Renfrew Yorkdale from September 26 to September 29.
The Bay welcomes Ann Taylor and LOFT
Back in the day, no one did corp-core quite like Ann Taylor and LOFT. Now the two brands are making their triumphant return to Canada through The Bay, this time, with a brand-new look. Ann Taylor is giving major old money vibes, with beautiful shirting, pleated pants and other preppy staples while LOFT is serving more Cotswolds, romantic chic with long dresses and cozy knits. One-stop shopping, indeed.
Levi’s collaborates with Andersson Bell
Just when you thought Levi’s couldn’t get any cooler, they’ve gone and partnered with South Korean label ADSB Andersson Bell on a capsule collection. The fall assortment deconstructs iconic Levi’s staples, reimagining them into pieces that blend the past with the future. Think graphic tees, deconstructed jackets and a whole lot of denim that can be purchased on October 5th.
