Calling all shoe lovers! We have news of an exciting collaboration that would make Carrie Bradshaw’s ears perk up. Next month, Christian Louboutin and Maison Margiela will release not one, but two capsule collections that will combine both houses’ beloved design philosophies into an array of jaw-dropping heels.
Designed by John Galliano and Christian Louboutin themselves, the lines will be released in two parts — Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin and Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela. The former will see the iconic Tabi shoe reinterpreted in modern sculptural and feminine forms while the latter will feature deconstructed Louboutin designs through Maison Margiela’s signature decortiqué technique.
The new releases will be available online and in boutiques worldwide beginning on March 12. And yes, we’re marking our calendars now.
Anyone else still not over last year’s Levi’s and Beyoncé collab? We sure aren’t. Luckily, the “Levi’s Jeans” singer is back in her favourite denim for the legacy brands’ newest commercial.
Last year, the partnership gave us a makeover of Levi’s iconic ‘Launderette’ commercial from 1985. Now, the second chapter of the brand’s “Reimagine” campaign is here with a modern encore of “Pool Hall,” from 1991. In the campaign, Beyoncé looks flawless in bedazzled Levi’s denim set as she challenges a “local shark” in an intense game of pool. While her exact ensemble may not be available to purchase (boo!), it does highlight how personalization is at the forefront of the American retailers mind. To quote the icon herself, Oh girl, I wish I was (in) your Levi’s jeans!
Birds, acorns, oak leaves and petals...We aren’t referring to the great outdoors but rather the newest motifs in Tiffany & Co’s Bird on a Pearl collection.
Inspired by legendary creative director Jean Schlumberger and his Bird on a Rock brooch, this collection is all about pearls. Honouring nature and all its offerings, the capsule highlights saltwater pearls and include nature-inspired motifs. Imagine diamond bird earrings sitting on mismatched white and silver pearls and necklaces with beautifully luxe forest imagery.
Lewis Hamilton: seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, proven style icon, social justice advocate, business owner, film producer and now, Lululemon’s newest ambassador. Surprising? Not necessarily – but needless to say he drives his career fast.
Using their renowned products, the athleisure brand will support the groundbreaking F1 athlete’s training, recovery and busy lifestyle needs. Lewis will also collaborate with the brand on future releases using his tried and tested athletic insight. “Lululemon’s product is such high quality, looks amazing and ultimately delivers the performance I need it to,” said Lewis in a press release.
Nothing screams Vivienne Westwood like distressed denim. So it’s only fitting that the late designer’s brand is continuing her legacy with a new jean drop that fits her punk criteria and DIY attitude, complete with her original hand-drawn signature.
Made of 100 percent organic cotton, the new collection offers two washes of denim. A mid-blue hue decked out with an archival signature-esque print from 2005, and a dark reflective wash that has some serious edge. Think full-length jeans, shorts, corset tops and skirts!
If there’s one thing Tate McRae knows well, it’s how to move. Famously known for her sport-inspired wardrobe, the Canadian singer and dancer is one of the faces for Adidas’ new sneaker, Lightblaze. The only question is, can the sneaker keep up? McRae says yes!
Although it looks like an everyday trainer, its comfy cushioning, lightweight midsole and gripping rubber outsole carry the DNA of a running shoe – prioritizing comfort for those constantly on the move. For men and women, the sneakers are available in neutral tones with pops of colour. Debuted by both McRae and French football player, Bradley Barcola, they are both popstar and athlete approved.
