Bottega Veneta and Jacob Elordi enter the world of dreams

BOTTEGA VENETA WHAT ARE DREAMS JACOB ELORDI

To quote Data, But Make It Fashion, “Why is the most consistent thing in my life Jacob Elordi wearing Bottega Veneta?”

For longtime fans of either (or both) the fashion house or Elordi, this should come as no surprise: Earlier this week, Bottega Veneta released a short film and black-and-white photo series starring none other than the Frankenstein star himself. Aptly named “What Are Dreams”, the star channels that dreamy, mysterious air he does so well. The campaign includes elements of surrealism from warped mirror visions to dangling string puppets—uncanny but strangely enticing. An inseparable duo, indeed.

The first thing you’ll notice upon walking into Michael Hill’s new Yorkdale store is the scent. A warm, crisp aroma with notes of jasmine, sage and thyme immediately calms the senses, while the green-and-white marble accents create a spa-like escape. The design for the store, Michael Hill’s Chief Marketing Officer Jo Feeney explains, was meant to evoke the brand’s New Zealand roots—where lush green landscapes and breathtaking views are part of everyday life.

Having officially opened on November 1st, every detail of the fine jewellery flagship—from the signature playlist to the curved stone corners to the plush couch nestled in the corner—factors into a one-of-a-kind customer experience. “We wanted it to be welcoming and inviting,” says Feeney. “We want you to feel like you can stay.” From small-treat bracelet charms to exquisite diamond necklaces, there’s plenty to splurge on. Overall, it makes a compelling case for the value of in-person shopping.

Couturier Rahul Mishra teams up with Johnnie Walker Blue Label on a very special bottle

Fashion designer Rahul Mishra has been on the Paris Haute Couture Week calendar since 2020—and the first-ever Indian designer to participate. His work has been worn by Deepika Padukone, Zendaya and Gigi Hadid (to name just a few). And now, he can add a new line to his resume: An exclusive collaboration with Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

Mishra lent his signature artistry, rooted in joyful colour and intricate embroidery, to a festive and limited edition run of whisky bottles. “The idea is simple, when I look at Blue Label and what it represents, I think of celebration,” says Mishra on the phone from India, after a full day spent working at his atelier. Mishra looked back at his own celebratory memories, and landed on his childhood spent in a remote village. “There was no air-conditioning, and in the summers we would sleep on the roof, and I could see all the stars and galaxies.” The bottle design references this, with subtle nods to the milky way.

Other motifs include Night Jasmine, which blooms in India during the holiday season, and animals—like peacocks and deer—that are featured on the box. “This coexistence with nature was so beautiful, and it’s how people celebrated without getting into over-consumption, they just celebrated the abundance that was around them.”

Mishra sees a lot of similarities between the world of haute couture and the process of whisky making. “You have to have patience. You have to do the time. It’s almost rhythmic like music. You can’t really shorten the process.”

The limited-edition bottle is available now at the LCBO and select liquor stores Canada-wide.
