Good News! You Can Hold Hands With Shawn Mendes In Berlin
Well, sort of...
Have you dreamed of holding Shawn Mendes’ hand? Or maybe laying down next to him in a field of flowers, à la Bella and Edward in Twilight? If the answer is yes (which if you’re reading this we’re going to safely assume it is), then you’re going to want to get yourself to Berlin ASAP.
Today, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Berlin unveiled a new Shawn Mendes wax figure and it’s got fans in a frenzy courtesy of its ‘gramability.
In an interesting (read: peculiar?) move, the museum has opted to have Shawn’s figure made laying down, with one arm outstretched and surrounded by a glowing field of flowers. Honestly, we could not make this up. The If I Can’t Have You singer’s statue is wearing black trousers and a green sweater. His sparrow tattoo on his hand has also been expertly recreated.

If you can’t get to Berlin and would prefer to see him in the flesh, Mendes is scheduled to perform in Montreal next week with concerts at the Bell Centre on August 21 and 22. Following that, he is confirmed to be performing at this year’s MTV VMAs alongside rumoured girlfriend Camila Cabello. The pair released Señorita this summer and have been inseparable ever since. It’s set to be a star-studded night with Lizzo, Lil Nas X and Taylor Swift also all confirmed to perform.
2019 marks the third year that the Canadian native will have taken stage. He is also nominated for five awards, including Artist of the Year (where he’s up against Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Halsey and the Jonas Brothers) and Best Collaboration, Best Art Direction, Best Choreography and Best Cinematography for Señorita.
Considering it’s been a pretty stellar year for Canadians winning big things, we’re hoping that continues come August 26.
