Totally eclipsing the sad news of Pete and Ariana’s relationship demise, Kensington Palace has just announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex aka Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting a baby. HOW. EXCITING.
Meghan and Harry married on May 19th in an extremely glamorous ceremony attended by David Beckham and Oprah. If the baby is to be born in Spring, then Meghan is currently about four or five months along, which suggests she conceived in July or August.
Rumours of the pregnancy began to circulate last Friday after Meghan appeared at Princess Eugenie’s wedding last Friday wearing a modest blue trench coat, and intensified over the weekend when the couple touched down in Sydney, Australia and Meghan was photographed carrying a not one, but two large portfolios to shield attention away from her stomach.
According to the BBC, Harry and Meghan broke the news to their family at Princess Eugenie’s wedding, and the Queen is reportedly “delighted” about her impending great-grandchild. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, is also “very happy about this lovely news” and “looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”
Harry and Meghan will continue on their 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga with no special modifications made to accommodate the pregnancy.
We cannot wait for this Royal Baby, which we’re hoping will dress just as cute and old-timey as Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
