Terrarium Eye Makeup is the Prettiest Floral Beauty Trend We’ve Ever Seen

We’re going to be honest here: When we first heard of "terrarium eye makeup,” we instantly cringed. Blame it on the disaster that was the succulent nail trend that arose last year, but we just couldn’t stand the thought of yet another plant-based beauty trend.

However, once we saw said terrarium eyes created by 19-year-old Instagrammer Ellie Costello (@makeupisart_x), we were mesmerized, because they’re seriously pretty AF.

Mind-blowing, right?

The self-taught U.K.-based makeup artist uses real flowers, leaves and stems (often from her mother’s garden) to decorate her eyelids, adorning the entire look with paint splatters for added effect. And honestly, as much as we loved floral eyeliner, this eye makeup really takes the cake.

Now obviously terrarium eyes aren’t exactly practical, but we can definitely appreciate the art in it. (Ellie really nailed it with her Instagram handle, @makeupisart_x.)
