The Spring 2025 Beauty Trends We Can’t Get Enough Of
The bolder the better.
The sun is out longer, the snow is melting (slowly but surely), and we’re starting to see temperatures steadily climb above 0°C. It’s official: spring is finally beginning to bloom, and after the very Canadian winter we’ve had, that’s cause for celebration in our books. And what better way to ring in the warmer weather than by trying out some of the season’s top beauty trends?
Just as we often do with our wardrobes, spring is the perfect time to refresh your beauty routine. And as we bid the cold an eager farewell, we’re zoning in on our personal style this season by welcoming a range of playful, optimistic and even eccentric aesthetics. Between the glorious return of red lipstick, bangs that take centre stage and eyebrows in all shapes and forms, the Spring 2025 runways proved that this season, restraint need not apply.

Eye Spy

From over-the-top smoky eyes to smudged lower lash lines and intricate graphic designs, black eyeliner (in all shapes, finishes and sizes) is so back. This season is ushering in the return of the party girl (at least her makeup, that is) and ushering out clean girl-everything aesthetic. And frankly, we couldn’t be more excited about it. Perhaps in the midst of the blistering summer heat we’ll be ready to step out in more minimal beauty looks (think a slicked back bun and SPF and... well, not much else) but for now, we’re excited to swipe on the liner and eyeshadow with reckless abandon and get out there. We’ve got places to be, people to see and sunshine to soak up.
High Brow/Low Brow

From chunky drawn-on blocks to ultra-skinny arches, eyebrows are still very much in their experimental era. The ‘anything goes’ approach has been applied to seemingly every element of beauty over the last several years, from hair to makeup to nails, but eyebrows have long been left out of the freak show in favour of more traditional thick, well-groomed arches. But those days are officially over. From bleached to skinny to unnaturally blocky and filled in, who’s to say your brows can’t change with your mood?
Bang-Bang

The answer to the age-old question “Should I get bangs?” is a resounding “Yes!” Anything goes when it comes to this season’s curtain call. No bangs are too extreme, too out-there or too vision-restricting. To get the look, you’ll need a trusty round brush that allows for optimal airflow when blowdrying (and don’t forget your heat protector). Then, to set your face-framing tresses perfectly in place, reach for a finishing cream and lightweight hairspray. Now you’re ready to go—just watch your step!
Heavy Metal

If the past half-decade has taught us anything through references like Euphoria and both the Renaissance and Eras tours, it’s that metallics, glitter and rhinestones are here to stay. This season’s update? Go wild and metallic anywhere you please. Lining your cupid’s bow with a silver shadow sounds like a great idea. Gluing on gold flakes up to your brow bone? Even better.
Floral Arrangements

Whoever said romance is dead must not have gotten the memo that flower-petal accents are the prettiest way to elevate and add a touch of whimsy to your beauty look this season. From more subtle touches like hair accessories to in-your-face (literally) works of art, we suggest you make your way to the art supply store ASAP. It appears that view-obstruction is the current beauty trend du jour.
Red-y For It

Some might say that red lipstick never really went away, but the lipgloss takeover of the past few years would beg to differ. Well, red lips are officially back and in every shade you could possibly imagine — from bright cherry to dark brick red — and every finish, too. Want something sheer and low-maintenance? Turn to lip stains. Don’t mind a constant reapplication? (Respect.) Then high-voltage red lip gloss is for you. And of course, there’s no universe in which a matte red lip will ever be anything other than timeless and elegant.
Sleek Now

There’s perhaps no better hairstyle for an on-the-go yet effortlessly put-together look than the slick-back. With just a few products, you can easily achieve a chic, glossy ‘do that will stay in place all day long with minimal fuss. So whether you prefer your slick updos one step away from being superglued to your scalp, softened with wispy bangs or maybe even spruced up with a fluffy ponytail, you’ll want to stock up on nourishing conditioners, hair gels and gloss sticks this season.
Lashing Out

Lashes are about to get extra luscious this season, so don’t be afraid to pull out your favourite coloured mascara or strips of falsies and go to town. Even the once-dreaded clumpy spider lash is back to reclaim its rightful spot as an elite beauty look. Clean-girl makeup? We simply don’t know her anymore.
