When you hear the name Jessi Cruickshank, you’re instantly hit with nostalgia for the glory days of The Hills. Fast forward to life several years later, after landing her breakout gig as co-host of The After Show (alongside fellow Canadian Dan Levy), and where is the Vancouver-bred Cruickshank now? The answer of course, is gearing up for her next TV gig as the host of Canada’s Smartest Person, a show which will feature weekly high-impact challenges and battles between some of Canada’s most intellectual.
The television personality, who wooed Hills viewers with her comedic and quick-witted interview style, sits down with us to tell us what’s in her bag. From the exclusive TTC-inspired clutch by Jimmy Choo, to the Toronto-based snack company she frequently sources, this gal has got all the bases covered when it comes to carrying around her necessities and she looks pretty damn good doing it too.

“I like to be prepared for anything. If I need to ditch my tote in the car or at my office to go out at night, I always have a smaller handbag on deck. This is the limited edition TTC clutch Jimmy Choo made for their Canadian Flagship launch at Yorkdale. I may love this bag more than my husband.”

“I need to eat. At all times. I always have a healthy snack on stand-by from Toronto-based company Four925, it helps to offset my 5 cent candy addiction.
I never leave a restaurant without taking a HANDFUL of mints. That way I always have a mint nestled somewhere at the bottom of my bag for emergencies!
Crystal Light will probably be the death of me, but I have the palate of a 5 yr old and if my water tastes like candy, I’ll drink 5 bottles of it.”

“When I’m shooting, my call times are insanely early. I put this frozen eye-mask on first thing in the morning- it reduces puffiness and wakes me right up. It’s also extremely attractive.
What can I say? A great big pair of heels requires a great big stash of band aids.”

“When I’m not filming I don’t wear a lot of makeup or hair. When I am shooting, I wear my own and other peoples! My purse always has some kind of false appendage buried inside- it looks like a crime-scene. I swear by clip-in hair when I want to change up my look for a red carpet and false lashes are a life-necessity for me. Like water and air.
I love my Karen Walker ‘Super Duper’ sunglasses- I wear and drop them daily- they’re indestructible!
I’ve been using Eye Envy serum to help grow out my brows and it’s creepy how well it works. My thick pre-teen brows are finally coming back with a vengeance.”
