It’s been said that fashion is often evolutionary but rarely revolutionary. The glaring exception to this is the subject of a new Apple TV+ show, The New Look. It follows famous French couturier Christian Dior as he launches his historic collection that dared to take women out of the functional forties and into the extravagance of the 1950s. (Read: itty, bitty waists, and giant hoops skirts, which Harper’s Bazaar editor Carmel Snow christened, “The New Look.”)
While the series isn’t being released until Valentine’s Day, we’ve got our first sneak peek through The New Look trailer, and it features Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior, Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel, Maisie Williams as Catherine Dior, and Glenn Close as Carmel Snow.
Is there a better way to unlock someone’s heart than with jewellery? We certainly don’t think so. Luckily, Tiffany & Co. has just the thing — Tiffany Woven Keys, a brand new collection of key-motif sparkles available in Vancouver.
Inspired by vintage designs from The Tiffany Archives (which date back to the late 1880s!), the new offering includes earrings, rings, bracelets and more in 18k rose gold, decorated with Tiffany’s legendary diamonds. As of Monday, January 15, Vancouver was the first city in Canada to receive the Tiffany Woven Keys and the only city outside of Greater China. But if you can’t make it to the West Coast or Greater China, the collection will be available globally in March. A golden key, indeed.
How do you stay warm and stylish? It’s a question we all find ourselves grappling with. For those who are more punk-included, Moose Knuckles has the answer in the form of their collaboration with Pleasures.
The unisex collection combines skeleton embroidery with floral graphics on various puffer jackets, hoodies, pants, T-shirts and more. Whether worn together or separately, a solid soundtrack of The Clash, Sex Pistols, and Ramones will follow you wherever you go.
Congratulations — you’ve survived Blue Monday! To celebrate, why not add some blue, purple, orange and more to your wardrobe, courtesy of Smythe’s pre-Spring 2024 collection?
The item we’re specifically coveting (besides everything), is this blazer created in collaboration with shirting label Wear Cissa. It’s made in Canada and features two side buttons that wrap across your waist to create a new silhouette.
