The $85 Shoes Kacey Musgraves Wore to the Met Gala
Kacey Musgraves was not one to disappoint last night, in a hot pink Barbie outfit complete with an unlikely pair of pumps.
When thinking of the Met Gala, it’s not hard to picture attendees like Lady Gaga wearing sky high sequinned boots or Zendaya in a light up Cinderella ball gown. Viewers can expect completely OTT outfits, especially for a theme as theatrical as “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” So it was ultra-surprising to hear that one gala-goer had completed her outfit with a pair of pumps that go for less than the price of a standard concert ticket. Kacey Musgraves finished off her Moschino Barbie look (including a blow-dryer purse) with none other than silver metallic pumps from Aldo that retail for $85 — an interesting accessory choice considering no expense is ever spared at the ‘biggest fashion event of the year’. Among all the glitz and glam, it is refreshing to see an upcoming red carpet star, such as Kacey Musgraves, wearing something as affordable and accessible as these shoes.
If we can’t be invited to the Met Gala, at least we can wear the same shoes as the country icon who was. That’s close enough, right?
