As the founder and design mind behind RVNG Couture—a Canadian label loved by supermodels including Coco Rocha, Helena Christensen, Jessica Stam, Lindsey Wixson and Irina Lazareanu—Jordan Stewart is known for collections full of divine details. Precision tailoring, romantic silhouettes and luxe fabrications are signatures of her label, which she regularly shows in Paris. The designer has always leaned into old-world glamour with her fashion brand, so when it came to her wedding, the same vibe was channeled, this time, on the Hawaiian island of O’ahu.

Jordan and her now-husband Richard Hyatt invited 58 guests this past December to celebrate their love set against the backdrop of the one of the world’s most iconic hotels: The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki. Known as the “Pink Palace of the Pacific,” this 99-year-old hotel boasts sweeping ocean views and lush tropical landscapes which Jordan says made for a breathtaking wedding locale.

“We chose this spot for its history and its unmistakable pink setting on the sea,” Steward shares. “The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki has hosted legendary guests including Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Marilyn Monroe. Being married in a place with such a rich history and narrative made our day feel timeless, as though we were stepping into a moment that had already lived so many beautiful lives before us.”

Jordan and Richard’s love story began in 2018 when the couple had a coffee date at the Hazelton Hotel in Toronto. “There was an ease and simplicity between us right from the beginning,” Jordan reflects. “At that moment in our lives though, timing was not on our side.”

The pair reconnected five years later, and met again for coffee, this time at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. With both of them now in different eras, Jordan and Richard deeply connected with each other on this date. A few weeks into their reignited romance, Richard (who is an entrepreneur) left on a business trip to France for seventeen days. While he was away, the pair spent hours on the phone, talking endlessly, counting down until they were together again.

“We found our way back to each other and have been inseparable since,” Jordan reveals. “We are best friends and each other’s favourite person.”

Richard proposed to Jordan in April last year, over takeaway burritos. This came as a huge surprise, and something she was definitely not expecting to happen in the lunchroom of his corporate offices. “Our lifestyle is very health focused and I reminded him this was not a food option on our plan,” Jordan laughs. “He suggested we indulge and split one burrito as a treat. Moments later he was down on one knee and pulled out a four-carat solitaire engagement ring that took my breath away. Totally overwhelmed and emotional, I immediately said ‘YES!’”

They quickly decided on a December 28th celebration at The Royal Hawaiian Resort Waikiki. Once the venue was chosen, the aesthetic of the day also came into focus. The inspiration? The vibrant pink floral patterned RVNG Couture dresses worn by Jordan’s bridesmaids (the couple’s blended family of eight children, aged seven to 22, made up the bridal party). The designer chose the bridesmaid gowns from her label’s 2026 spring collection presented during Paris Fashion Week last October.

“The fabric of the dresses became the foundation for the entire day,” Jordan explains. “We worked with a local florist, Jeff from Creative Concepts, who used thousands of flowers for the ceremony and the reception which were selected and arranged to echo patterns and movement of the material. I loved how we merged fashion and environment to create a visual story.”

The boys in the wedding party wore custom pink suits from Harry Rosen styled with Zegna shoes, pink socks and pocket squares in the same fabric as the bridesmaids’ dresses. Richard also wore a pink floral pocket square with his breezy pale blue suit, paired with a crisp white shirt and sneakers. As for the fashionable bride, Jordan designed her own wedding gowns with the main event being the ceremony dress that delivered pure red-carpet drama.

The bride’s show-stopping strapless satin column gown dress featured a bustier top and corset with draping across the bustline and delicate drop sleeves. The skirt also featured artful draping and ruching, and an alluring side slit to showcase her white platform Chanel sandals. Jordan finished the look with a diaphanous tulle veil trimmed in vintage lace which she repurposed from her grandmother’s wedding dress. She wore her hair in loose beach waves and her bridal makeup look was soft and radiant focused on glowing skin and a dusky mauve lip shade.

“I chose a very traditional silhouette,” Jordan says of her wedding gown. “I often create dramatic ballgowns, but I had my bridesmaids wearing that silhouette and I loved how they looked surrounding me. It felt balanced, intentional and deeply personal,” she says.

The design process wasn’t easy, and the ceremony dress wasn’t finished until adjust a few hours before the wedding. For the reception, she changed into a boho-inspired number, with flowing sleeves and plunging neckline inspired by her mother’s wedding gown from the 1970s.

The couple’s wedding ceremony took place at sunset on the resort’s Ocean Lawn surrounded by postcard-perfect views of Waikiki Beach. Jordan and Richard said their “I dos” beneath a dramatic arch of pink, red and white roses and phalaenopsis orchids. After dipping into the ocean for a splashy photo session, the couple changed outfits, and invited guests to dine under the stars, with all the trimmings of a traditional Hawaiian luau including hula and fire dancers. “The energy was electric,” Jordan says.

In a cinematic day brimming with chic style and heartfelt emotion, the couple share their best moments were the ones focused on each other and their children.

“Seeing Richard standing at the altar for the first time was such an emotional moment,” Jordan says. “Marrying the love of my life was profoundly moving. As I walked toward him, our close friend Chantal Kreviazuk, who flew all the way to Hawaii to celebrate with us, sang “I Just Want to Feel This Moment.” We moved a grand piano on the lawn for her to play and it felt like a scene from a movie. Time slowed, and all I could feel was gratitude and certainty.”

Richard echoes this sentiment and says the moment he saw Jordan coming down the aisle with their eight children beside him was incredibly special. “This is when I felt the depth of what we were creating together. Watching our children laugh, twirl, and celebrate with each other was unforgettable. Their joy was the heartbeat of our event and a reminder of why our wedding day resonated so deeply with all of us.”
