Gucci and Dapper Dan’s First Collaboration Is Finally Here
Dapper Dan, born Daniel Day, quickly became a cult favourite in the 1980s and 90s, creating eclectic outfits for prominent entertainers like Bobby Brown, LL Cool J, and Salt-N-Pepa, that used luxury logos without any authorization from the brands.
Today, Day’s partnership with luxury giant, Gucci, is as official as can be, launching online and in select flagship stores. It’s as a signal of how things have come full circle for Day. The collection is a Guccified version of the original Dapper Dan aesthetic, featuring designs that honour his iconic garments with re-imagined interlocking GG logos, velour tracksuits, light wash jeans, and varsity jackets with gold printed python trims.
