Graff Diamonds are Opening Their First Retail Location in Canada

Graff Diamonds, a heritage luxury retailer responsible for some of the most valuable jewels in existence, will be opening their first Canadian standalone location next month, on Vancouver’s tony West Georgia Street.

While you or I may not quite be in the market to drop umpteen millions on cold, cold ice, the Graff store is still worth a visit to bask in the presence of exquisite, heart-stoppingly expensive jewellery. Amongst Graff’s gem collection is a 105.07 carat pear shaped diamond called the Graff Vendôme, and the Graff Venus, a 118.78 carat heart-shaped diamond certified as the largest D Flawless heart shape diamond in the world. Many of their jewellery pieces are completely unique, as they are created specifically to suit the individual properties of the stone they are working with.

At a Graff preview earlier this month, the brand’s marketing rep handed me a fist-sized chunk of rock representing the Lesedi La Rona, the world’s largest rough diamond (1,109 carats) that they’re currently polishing into over 60 smaller diamonds, some still over 100 carats. Though it was only a replica, I was completely stunned by the heft and value of this chunk, and my mind began to drift toward the burly security guards hulking outside the front entrance. (Graff prices begin at $6,000.)

“Canada is an important market with a discerning and international clientele; this is a prominent retail destination for Graff and we are delighted to be exclusively represented by Birks Group, whose name is synonymous with luxury,” says CEO Francois Graff.

Considering Graff is entering the Canadian market under the umbrella of the Birks Group, we’ll be on the lookout for Meghan Markle to be sporting Graff diamonds in the near future.
