Chanel goes intergalactic this fall—and two stars shine bright!
Ever since the French luxury house debuted its Chanel Airspace fall 2017 collection (complete with a life-size rocket that actually lifted off in the Grand Palais) during Paris Fashion Week, we’ve been dreaming of the silver leather suits, glittery lunar boots and satellite bags. Beam us up, Karl Lagerfeld!
Lucky for us, Chanel has just released exclusive behind-the-scenes photos of its fall/winter 2017/18 campaign starring the House ambassadress Lily-Rose Depp and actress/model Cara Delevingne. Shot by Karl Lagerfeld, these two It girls embody this ready-to-wear collection’s interstellar journey, outfitted in black sweatshirts with astronaut prints and the label’s signature tweed jackets embellished with pearls. Bubbled vinyl dresses and futuristic-looking coats in silver leather and shearling also create a modern texture message of matte and shiny finishes.
The embellishment and accessories are out of this world, too. Sequins and embroidery twinkle like stars, while brooches, bags and boots give celestial bodies a sartorial twist.
