Sequins and neon were popular choices on the night.
The 2019 American Music Awards took place in Los Angeles overnight with the top names in music gathering for the event.
Taking place at the Microsoft Theatre, the annual awards ceremony honours the very best in music, and this year was no different. Despite recent tumultuous events, Taylor Swift (who arrived on the red carpet in a sparkly green look by Julien Macdonald) took to the stage to perform a medley of her greatest hits as she was crowned Artist of the Decade.
No awards show is complete without a red carpet, and the AMAs is renowned for being particularly bold – and bold it certainly was. Christina Aguilera rocked a white sequinned, hooded creation from Jean Paul Gaultier, whilst Lizzo and Selena Gomez both got the neon memo in Valentino and Versace respectively (Lizzo’s miniature Valentino handbag was an accessory highlight, too). Billie Eilish, the youngest artist to ever be nominated across the awards’ top four categories, went for a look that can only be described as fashion beekeper by Burberry. Plus, two our favourite Canadians, Dan and Sarah Levy, were also spotted on the night.
