Every first Monday of May, a fresh wave of attendees steps onto the Met Gala carpet for the very first time, and this year, the latest class of Gen Z stars (alongside one beloved A-list icon) made their presence known. With a theme centred on fashion as art and the body as its canvas, the debutantes at the 2026 Met Gala had a lot to work with.
For some, that meant leaning into sculptural silhouettes and conceptual design. For others, it was about restraint, allowing craftsmanship and subtle detailing to shine instead of theatrics. The result was an array of first-time appearances that felt (mostly) on-theme, but, above all, completely confident.
Below, see the standout 2026 Met Gala debuts that are setting the tone for Hollywood’s new era.

From his initial Golden Globes appearance earlier this year to hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time a few months ago, Connor Storrie’s 2026 Met Gala debut is the latest in a string of buzzy milestones for the Heated Rivalry star. The A-list heartthrob arrived on The Met steps in a relaxed Saint Laurent suit and a trailing, polka-dot top, which was initially topped with a sharp jacket that he later shed to reveal the full arm-baring look. Finished with jewellery from Tiffany & Co. and a sleek Omega watch, the look felt like a classic and elevated.
If there’s one thing Hudson Williams is going to do, it’s make a statement. The B.C.-born Heated Rivalry star leaned all the way into the dramatic flair of the evening for his Met Gala debut in a pale pastel blue two-piece Balenciaga ensemble with a matador-inspired structure, black jewelled embellishments and a sweeping cape that draped over the steps. Supposedly referencing Cristóbal Balenciaga’s Spanish heritage, the look certainly played into the star’s flair for risk-taking. Of course, the drama didn’t stop with the fashion, as he noted on the red carpet, the makeup was “Black Swan”-adjacent, adding a dark, smudged contrast that pushed the entire moment firmly into performance territory.

After an incredibly busy awards season run following her breakout role in One Battle After Another, we weren’t surprised to see Chase Infiniti steal the show at the 2026 Met Gala. The rising star stepped onto the carpet in a painterly and colourful gown by Thom Browne, inspired by the classic Venus de Milo sculpture and sparkling jewels from MARLI New York. Doused in sequins, fringe and bright, primary-coloured hues, the look felt perfectly on trend for the art-filled evening.
As a recently knighted Valentino brand ambassador, it’s no surprise that Sombr donned the brand for his first Met Gala appearance. The 20-year-old singer arrived in a lace and velvet top paired with silver and black trousers, which were layered under a sweeping metallic cape that anchored the look firmly in the night’s theme. Sharp, pointed-toe leather shoes and his signature dark curls grounded the look in his already recognizable glam-yet-grunge style.
Walking The Met’s red carpet for the very first time alongside her famous parents, the 14-year-old dancer proved she’s already well on her way to icon status. Posing for photos with mom Beyoncé, who served as one of the event’s co-chairs, Blue Ivy Carter stepped out in an all-white ensemble featuring a dress with a bubble-hem skirt, layered under an open zip sweater with an exaggerated popped collar. She styled the look with silver heels, black sunglasses and a diamond necklace, for an effortlessly cool debut.

Fresh off her stellar gold-medal run at this year’s Winter Olympics, the 20-year-old figure skater leaned into a romantic vibe for her first Met Gala. After being announced as Louis Vuitton’s latest house ambassador just earlier in the day, Alysa Liu donned a deep-red gown by the fashion house, featuring a strapless, fitted bodice and a high-low ruffled hem that added fluidity to its sculptural shape. Pairing the look with matching red velvet heels, the athlete completed her ensemble with shimmering diamond earrings and a complementary ruby choker while her signature blonde-and-brown halo hair was styled in a soft half-up-half-down style.
While she’s far from a newcomer, Stevie Nicks had actually never attended the Met Gala prior to tonight—and she managed to deliver one of the most talked-about Met Gala debuts of the evening. The 77-year-old music legend arrived in a custom Zara gown designed by John Galliano, rendered in black and midnight blue with a dramatic silhouette. Her voluminous skirt was adorned with intricate tulle and chiffon roses along her waist, while a silk taffeta and velvet jacket added a layer of shine to the look. She finished the look with a towering top hat created alongside milliner Stephen Jones, which was complete with a black feathered detail that nodded to her signature gothic-romantic style.
