Top 10 model celebrity couples: In honour of Behati Prinsloo and Adam Levine’s engagement, we count ’em down
Rumour has it that Adam Levine has decided to put a ring on it. It, being Victoria’s Secret model Bahati Prinsloo’s finger. Though we find it hard to believe that the singer, who doubles as a notorious modelizer, is wanting to settle down already, the musician’s publicist has confirmed that the engagement rumours are indeed true. Prinsloo and Levine first started dating shortly after the singer’s very public breakup with fellow Angel Anna Vyalitsyna (that has to call for some back stage tension). The tatted Maroon 5 front man and star of hit show The Voice refuses to embrace the womanizer label he’s been given, telling Details Magazine he just really loves women.
Like Leo, Johnny Depp and other Hollywood hotties before him, Levine’s model obsession (he’s been linked to four different Victoria’s Secret models in the past few years) has us thinking he was headed for the perpetual bachelor club. Instead, this latest announcement has us wondering if Levine and Prinsloo are the next Bowie and Iman.
Levine and Prinsloo’s love affair has us reminiscing over other famed celebrity/model couples. The consistency of these common partnerships is no coincidence; the fame and fortune of a celebrity combined with the natural beauty of a supermodel—what’s not to love! From the ‘90s to the present, we’re taking a look back at 10 celebrity/model relationships- some have happy endings, while some we wish we could forget.
10. Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom
Started: Late 2007
Like Levine, Orlando Bloom has a soft spot for models of the Victoria’s Secret sort. He wed Australian beauty Miranda Kerr in 2010 and the three years later their relationship seems to be positively bloom-ing. In 2011, the genetically perfect couple had their first child, a son named Flynn, and together the three of them look, well- perfect. A street style favourite, Kerr and her boys are often spotted in New York, running errands and making things like grocery shopping look incredibly glamorous.

Throughout the course of their relationship Schiffer would regularly appear as a special guest at Copperfield’s shows. 8. Chanel Iman and A$AP Rocky
Started: May, 2013
After months of speculation, runway veteran Chanel Iman has finally confirmed her relationship with newly single A$AP Rocky, which is pretty perfect, considering that the rapper has appeared in campaigns for Alexander Wang and has a hit song titled “Fashion Killa.” Were wondering if we’ll be seeing Iman, who’s appeared in Usher’s 2012 music video for “Dive”, in any of her new bf’s music videos.
7. Stephanie Seymore and Axl Rose
Hard to believe that ‘90s supermodel Stephanie Seymore, current wife of billionaire businessman Peter Brant, was at one time in love with the lead singer of a hard rock band. But alas, the photos don’t lie. Seymore and Guns N’ Roses front man Axl Rose dated for two years during which time Seymore appeared in two music videos for the band, including the epic “November Rain.” The unlikely couple even went so far as to get engaged, breaking up three weeks later when Rose accused his fiancée of infidelity.
6. Will Smith and Tyra Banks
Though it pains us to imagine Will Smith with anyone other than Jada, we can’t ignore history. Will Smith and Tyra Banks became an item after meeting on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in 1993. In the show Banks played Smith’s character’s girlfriend. The fictional romance quickly took a turn towards reality; the pair enjoyed a yearlong relationship ending things in 1994.

Perpetual bachelor and modelizer Leonardo DiCaprio enjoyed a lengthy (well, for his standards) four-year relationship with Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Apparently, the affair wasn’t all smooth sailing. The pair broke up and got back together many a times before Bündchen decided she was over his partying ways.
3. Kate Moss and Johnny Depp
In between Winona and Vanessa, there was Kate. One of the most aesthetically pleasing couples of all time, the American actor and British supermodel enjoyed a four-year romance and a short engagement before breaking things off in 1998. The breakup was tough for Moss who told Vanity Fair that “years and years of crying” followed their split.
2. Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger
A poster child for modelizers everywhere, Mick Jagger met Jerry Hall, then just 20 years old, in 1976 and the two immediately hit it off. The all-American model and Stones front man had a fairytale like romance, which led to marriage in 1990. The union was unfortunately short-lived and in 1999 the pair had their marriage annulled. Throughout their 23 years together the couple had four children, one of which being it-Brit Georgia May Jagger.
1. Iman and David Bowie
Started: April, 1990
British Rock star David Bowie married Somali-born model Iman in 1992 and they’ve continued to be one of the most romantic model/celebrity couples of all time.. The loved-up couples have much to celebrate outside their relationship as well. After two seasons of hosting Project Runway Canada, Iman has her attention focused on her wildly successful multi-million dollar cosmetic line. Equally successful is Bowie’s retrospective exhibit, which hits the AGO this fall!
