Based on her diamond-encrusted outing earlier this week and a morning spent in the public eye today, it seems Kate Middleton’s royal engagement schedule is back on track—and we couldn’t be more chuffed. This morning Kate was out in the London borough of Ealing to officially open The Art Room at Northolt High School, and helping spread some feel-good Valentine’s Day vibes along the way.
As a Royal Patron of the charity, Kate has championed its work bringing art therapy to youth undergoing challenges in their lives. While Kate’s appearance was a solo one, it was a giving day for all the royals: Prince William spent the day with Harry, helping the army build flood protection barriers in the southern parts of England. We’ll assume the happy couple will be spending some quality Valentine’s Day time together later tonight.
But back to this morning! The Duchess of Cambridge looked fresh and bright in a azure blue slim sheath dress from one of her favourite high street shops, L.K. Bennett. The crepe dress, with its notched collar and knee-grazing hemline, was perfectly appropriate for the school appearance. Finished with Kiki McDonough earrings, a white gold and diamond Mappin & Webb necklace and a new Cartier watch (worth €4656, nbd) the look was understated yet maintained a sense of refined glamour. Her standard black clutch and suede Episode pumps kept the outfit looking very Kate—that ideal mix of practical and thrifty. Given just how happy she appears in all the photos, we’ll say it was a day well-spent for Kate.
