Drake’s New Music Video Will Make You Happy Cry

"The budget for this video was $996,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.”

Last week, we reported that Drake was channelling his inner Oprah. The 30-year-old actor turned rapper was flaunting his generosity and wealth across the Miami area, paying for a student’s university tuition, buying a whole supermarket their groceries etc. etc. What gives Drizzy? Why the sudden benevolence? One week later, we finally have an explanation from our beloved 6ix God — who only loves his bed and his momma, he’s sorry.

The music video for “God’s Plan” just dropped, and it opens with the caption: “The budget for this video was $996,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.” The video shows the Birkin collecting rapper handing cash stacks, checks, toys, cars and Saks shopping sprees out to the deserving Drake fans of Florida. It is, according to Drake, the most important thing that the Toronto-born rapper has done in his career. Watch the video below, and see if you can stop yourself from choking up. We’re so proud of our homegrown Canadian boy :’)
