Spring has sprung — and the arrival of a new season calls for a fresh, new cut.

Whether you’re looking to reshape your waist-grazing lengths or to sport a full-on crop, the top spring 2025 haircuts are serving up major inspiration. On the mood board? Supermodel chops à la Christy Turlington, Tate McRae’s face-contouring lengths and more.

Ahead, we break down what to ask your stylist for at your next appointment—with celebrity reference photos included, for your viewing pleasure.

Face-framing fullness

Not every haircut needs to be a dramatic chop. Sometimes, the subtle changes can make all the difference. Case in point: long layers with face-framing pieces. And no one’s doing this contoured look better than our Canadian pop princess, Tate McRae, and her go-to hairstylist, Chad Wood.

With the shortest pieces falling just below the chin, followed by medium to long layers underneath, you’ll be left with a flattering cut that accentuates your features without losing much length in the process. In Tate, we trust.

The supermodel snip

Inspired by supermodel Christy Turlington, expect to spot the pixie-adjacent “Christy Cut” on curly girls everywhere this season. As seen on fellow runway model Mathilda Gvarliani, and in a viral TikTok post by The Hair Bros, it’s the style that requires bowl-shaped bangs at the front, layers throughout and a trim that hits the nape of the neck at the back.

“It is a softer more natural take on the quite severe ‘Pageboy’ haircut,” says the hairstylist in the TikTok video. “I think this shape actually really accentuates both the cheekbones and eyes. It’s very different from both a bob or a shorter crop.”

The jellyfish cut

Worn by both Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus already this year, the “jellyfish” haircut (originally known as the hime or “princess cut” in Asia) has solidified itself as one of our favourite spring hair trends. It’s an ideal look for those looking for a more severe chop with a bit of edge. To get the look, you’ll want to ask your hairstylist for two disconnected layers that form a flouncy, jellyfish-like shape.

The first, shorter layer creates a rounded look with blunt-cut bangs and trimmed pieces that fall just below the jawline. Then, the rest of the hair hangs longer underneath to create that contrast.

Midi-lengths

Not too long yet not too short, the midi-length cut is the trendy trim that VIPs like Simone Ashley, Shay Mitchell and Hailey Bieber have been rocking as of late. Sitting just a couple of inches below the collarbone, this versatile length is easy to style and maintain. To add more dimension, consider requesting light layers and soft waves throughout.

Our favourite thing about this in-between ‘do? It provides a solid vibe check ahead of summertime styling—allowing you to proceed with growing your hair out or committing to an ultra-short crop in the coming months.

The bouncy bob

As temperatures rise, there’s nothing more satisfying than having your hair off your neck. Let your hair grow with the season by starting anew with a lightweight, bouncy bob.

Taking inspiration from Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid, a soft and rounded bob that lands above the shoulders will give you more volume than, say, a sleek, blunt-cut bob. From Old Hollywood waves to side-parted styles with flicked-out ends, you can do it all with this cut.
