MTV VMAs 2017: The Best Beauty Looks from the Red Carpet

The MTV Video Music Awards are one of the most memorable awards shows of the year thanks to the unexpected and outrageous moments — both on and off the red carpet.

This year, however, the stars in attendance played it safer than usual, at least when it came to beauty looks. But that’s not to say they weren’t great. Take Paris Jackson’s vibrant blue liner, for example. The 19-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson is starting to be a bit more playful with her makeup (remember her red eye shadow at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards?), and this bold eye look was no exception. Vanessa Hudgens also played up her eye, sporting sparkly red shadow and matching winged liner to go with her red dress. It was a definite win in our books.

More natural eye looks were just as effective, however. Millie Bobby Brown looked all grown-up with a soft smoky eye, while Hailey Baldwin looked like a bronzed goddess. As for our cover girl Lorde? She went for a pared-down look fit for a princess, with soft pink eye shadow and short tresses pulled up into a half-up, half-down ‘do.

Then there were the ladies who were ready for fall, particularly Amber Rose (who looked almost unrecognizable with her dark brown strands) and Olivia Munn. Christina Milian, however, was still very much embracing summer with a dewy, glowy complexion complete with wet hair.
