If you have textured hair, you’re in for a treat as many brands are seriously ramping up their product offerings to help coax out your hair’s natural texture. Aveda’s Be Curly Advanced line was developed alongside curly-hair experts to get things bang on.

“I’m no scientist — I just know what products should feel like in hair as you’re going through the curl styling process,” says New York-based hair- stylist Renée Gadar, Aveda’s global artistic director of texture, who helped spearhead the seven-formula lineup, which can be tailored to any curl pattern.“My main mission was to create ease. These are beautiful products that work well and are efficient. You can always depend on them.” The star ingredients in the silicone-free collection are pea and vegetable peptides, which penetrate deep into the hair shaft — a plus for curl definition and hair strength.

Over at Olaplex, a new three-step in-salon treatment designed specifically for curls plus an at-home curl-defining gel harness the power of bond-building amino acids and a vitamin-packed coconut- and avocado-milk blend to fortify and redefine damaged curls and reduce future breakage. And Redken’s latest curl collection also promises to rebuild broken bonds in curly hair for better elasticity (read “bounce”), smoothness and hydration — just what a curl wants.
