We’ve seen many celebs utilize the cut over the years. When Katy Perry broke things off with Orlando Bloom in 2017–they’ve since gotten back together–she traded in her long blonde bob for a platinum pixie cut, which was quite the departure from her usual look. Yesterday, we saw another celeb make a shocking hair switch-up: Ariana Grande. The no-longer-engaged-to-Pete-Davidson celeb debuted a shoulder length bob over Instagram, a choice all the more shocking given her usual commitment to ultra long locks.
We’ve become pretty accustomed to her signature sleek pony, so it’s safe to say people were surprised. But at the same time it’s refreshing to see Grande in full rebound mode, first dropping her kiss-off single “Thank U, Next” an hour before SNL and now rocking a brand new ‘do. Following the (very public) breakup, former fiancé Davidson immediately dyed his platinum hair a bright blue, and now it seems that Grande has followed suit with her own switch-up.
Both stars are ready for a change and though switching up your hair style won’t solve all your problems, it can definitely be a great place to start. In the wise words of Coco Chanel, “a woman who cuts her hair is about to change her life.”
