Alena Papayanis is a queer writer, essayist, poet, professor, and podcaster based in Toronto. Her writing focus on queerness, coming out “later in life,” people-pleasing, and love and relationships. Alena’s writing has appeared in HuffPost, Chatelaine, Refinery29, Xtra Magazine, FASHION and The Globe and Mail. In 2024, one of her essays was long-listed for The International Amy McRae Award for Memoir.
