Sui He

Born in Wenzhou, China, a small city six hours south of Shanghai, Sui He was a member of the city’s swim team for seven years. And now, just shy of six feet tall, she is making a splash out of the pool, in fashion.

This 25-year-old trailblazer has been making fashion firsts since starting her career. Known for being the first Asian face of Shiseido and the second model of Chinese descent to ever walk in the Victoria’s Secret show, He got her start on a lark, after she entered a modeling contest in 2006 at the age of 17.

Her breakthrough season was Fall/Winter of 2011, where she most opened for Ralph Lauren. That same year, she was featured on the cover of Chinese Vogue and has since been featured by the magazine several times.

She has walked the runways for designers Jill Stuart, Vivienna Tam, Diane von Furstenberg, Marchesa, Ports 1961, Ralph Lauren, Elie Tahari, L’Wren Scott, Dolce & Gabbana, Costume National, DSquared², and Dries van Noten — and many more. In 2012 she modelled for the Karl by Karl Lagerfeld campaign.

Second to modelling, she loves food. In fact, she suspects she would have had a career in the restaurant industry had she not fallen into modelling. She chalks up her famed stunning complexion to drinking plenty of water and a diet rich in vegetables and fruit. Her shopping weakness? Handbags, and she counts Christian Dior, Chanel, Celine, Fendi, Prada among her go-to brands. He has a knack for pairing high end and mass brands, which she counts H&M as a favourite.
