This Canadian Sneaker Company Counts Gigi Hadid Among Its Fans

Things have moved fast for Canadian siblings Zach and Zoe Claman De Melo. In just four years the pair have taken their luxe women’s kicks, ZCD Montreal, from Holt Renfrew to Hudson’s Bay and Barneys New York. Zach’s experience as a race-car driver exposed the two to the sport’s glamorous world both on and off the track, so they set out to create high-end runners that could straddle the racetrack and the runway, so to speak. The result is an Italian-made collection of shoes, in flashy metallic or with fur trim, that don’t look OTT. The brand’s recent campaign featured Instagram stars Sistine Stallone (daughter of Sylvester) and Cami Morrone; actresses Margot Robbie and Bella Thorne and model Gigi Hadid are fans. “Models today set the tone for sales in the market,” says Zoe. “Having Gigi wear our sneakers and style them the way she does? That speaks volumes.” Zoe hints at a future men’s line, but for now ZCD is keeping pace.
