With the September crazies beginning tomorrow both at home and abroad, we could use a few pointers about getting through the Toronto International Film Festival and New York Fashion Week alive. Look no further than Lainey Lui, the multitasking blogger and television host who manages both Laineygossip.com, reporting duties on eTalk and her weekday stint on CTV’s The Social with, from the looks of it, effortless ease. At least part of it can be attributed to a smallish Chloé saddle bag stuffed to the brim with balls-out essentials like e-cigarettes, long-lasting lipsticks and tampons. The rest must be magic.

“It’s Chloé and I got it in New York. It’s the best and cutest shoulder bag. It’s the perfect size—not too small, not too big and it goes with everything. It goes with my jeans and it even goes with my sweatpants. Especially for TIFF, I have to cover a gala and then go to a party after so I’m pretty dressed up and it can go with me there.”

“A Michael Bublé concert ticket from June. This is really important because it was the best seat I’ve ever had at a concert. Michael hooked us up with front row tickets. ”

“Lip glosses. My favourite colour is Vincent Longo in “Pricilla”…it lasts all day—I’ve actually gone swimming with it on and it has stayed on my lips. If I’m feeling a little muted I’ll use a little of this gloss by Fresh.”

“I always have bobby pins that are all connected because they’re very useful. In case your hair gets in your way. I heard bobby pins can also pick locks if you’re in a jam.”

“These DL Eyewear sunglasses are the perfect neutral army green colour. What I love about Dan’s glasses is that they’re so stylish but you don’t have to keep them in their case.”

“A Good luck charm. It’s the Goddess of Justice. It’s Buddhist. It’s Chinese, it keeps me safe. You know you’re out late at night—I’ve had accidents before or if I’m going home in a cab at four in the morning I like to know I’m protected and nothing bad is going to happen me. I went to a Haunted House last night and I didn’t have it and I almost freaked out.”
