It makes sense that accessory lust-makers would in turn, lust after accessories themselves. We just never realized how much. When Jodie and Danielle Snyder, the sister duo behind the arm party accessories brand Dannijo, stopped by Toronto for their trunk show at Holt Renfrew last month, the two practically spilled Harlequin novels about love for their purses for our What’s in Your Bag shoot. “You know they say plants, pets, people. I think it’s purses, people,” said Danielle. “She’s always on me, I have to know where she is when I’m talking to someone.”
All joking aside, Danielle and Jodie Snyder are pretty rad girls. In just under 5 years, the two have made Dannijo the mega label it is today, churning out one covetable collection after another of bejeweled bangles, neon chandelier earrings, iPhone cases and clothing. They’ve even made the brand’s signature bib necklaces into Instagram sensations of their own by photographing them all over the world while on vacation. To boot, the Dannijo girls work philanthropy into their ever-growing brand, collaborating with an African women’s co-operative to produce their pieces. And we thought collaborating with Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine was feat enough on its own.
