Becky Kung, 32

When it comes to Christmas brunching, I love the idea of getting cozy in my favorite knit sweater and skinny jeans. Cable knit sweaters have taken the front seat for me this season, and there’s something so special about feeling warm for a daytime look.

I also love that knit sweaters can be layered with a t-shirt underneath. Not only adding extra layers for warmth, yet also perfect a great way to hide any signs of having just indulged in the many delicious meals this season.

Besides those big and fancy holiday parties, a few smaller low-key and casual holiday get-togethers, such as brunches, always take place along the way during the month of December. People might think it’s hard to dress for those events, because they do not want to go overboard, but at the same time, they would like to keep a hint of holiday spirit. I would personally solve it through a simple thinking of just mixing casual and glam. My bottom half in shimmery champagne-coloured culottes and lace-up heels is keeping the holiday-esque part of the outfit, while my upper half is in a cozy sweater playing juxtaposition. Lastly, since a lot of holiday related events are filled with food, I would do my body a favour and stay away from tightly fitted clothes, letting my belly enjoy the Christmas food without a worry.

As far as I know, no one puts ‘food baby’ on their list of must-have holiday accessories. But personally, I don’t believe in sacrificing my appetite for an outfit, at least not during my favourite season for food. So to stay comfortable without sacrificing sophistication leather leggings paired with a sweater dress and a chic coat is my go-to solution for any

I like to keep the tones light and bright for a Christmas brunch, but I don’t skimp on drama. I have fun with my outfits for any festive gathering. This pearl sweatshirt is the perfect pair for my mint green tulle skirt.

I love brunch dates in a big way. It’s not only the time I get to eat my favourite food, aka Eggs Benedict. It’s also a great time to mix high and low styles for your look, one of my go-to styling tools. For me, brunch attire is all about that perfect mix of comfortable casual and dressed up polish. I opted for comfortable flats and a jogger cut sequin pant. The sparkle of the relaxed fit pant paired with a blazer, give this look a polished sophisticated feel. I try to resist the urge to wear sweatpants and a tee every Sunday, the struggle is real.

Christmas brunch calls for the slouchiest, most comfy denim for me. A cute look that can easily be deconstructed in case I need to stretch out after eating is essential. HA! I love this outfit because the red heels add a little chic to it and when taken off, the boyfriend jeans and penguin sweater can still hold their own and keep me stylish.

Mo’s wearing: Jeans and coat, Value Village. Sweater, Winners. Heels, Eloquii. Purse, Aritzia.

Stephanie Koch, 30

When I go on weekend outings at any time of the year, I like to dress comfortably enough that I can go with the flow if plans evolve or change. For Christmas, our gatherings tend to be multi-generational; babies, grandmas, friends, so I try to keep my outfits fun and appropriate to mix and mingle with different groups of people. I wore this exact outfit on Saturday to a casual brunch and then we went as a family to a cookie decorating party. The over-sized pompom and plaid keep it festive, the skirt adds a bit of femininity, and the bulky sweater hides the cookies I decorated and then ate.

Stephanie’s wearing: Hat and sweater, Joe Fresh. Shirt, Wilfred Free by Aritzia. Skirt, Nicholas The Label. Boots, Sam Edelman. Bag, Rebecca Minkoff.

Kayla Short, 29

When considering what to wear to Christmas brunch we pretty much wish we could all just wear Joey’s Thanksgiving pants am I right?. While our families might not approve of such wardrobe choices (I’m thinking the grammas) I’m here to suggest the boyfriend jean. Depending on how dressy your brunch is you might not be able to get away with jeans (in which case swap in the elastic waistband trouser), but if you can you must enlist the boyfriend jean. With plenty of extra room these guys are a win I’m telling you, and so easy to dress up. Simply add a loose fitting blouse (maybe a fur vest if you have it), some accessories, and you’re good to go for second (or maybe third) helpings.

Kayla’s wearing: Jeans, Rag and Bone via Aritzia. Blouse, Talula via Aritzia. Vest, Envy Clothing. Necklace, Beck and Boosh. Hat, Envy Clothing. Boots, Vince Camuto. Watch, Bulova.

what to wear on christmas laura mitbrodt

Laura Mitbrodt, 31

I choose a vintage inspired dress from Unique Vintage to wear out on Christmas brunch with my family. I love this dress because it can easily be worn all year long and doesn’t scream Christmas with sequins or a holiday themed colour palette. The silhouette is also very flattering on most body types and flares out from the waist with a full skirt.
