Along with business partner Giancarlo Giammetti, Valentino Garavani is the latest designer to dig into his archives with a virtual museum that will allow us to forego standing in lines. In form of a downloadable desktop app, the archive will be available December 5 and mimics a 100,000 square foot museum, with an interior inspired by Roman architecture and lighting. Over 300 dresses from Valentino’s archives will be on display as well as famous red carpet looks—including those of fashion icons Jackie O and Julia Roberts. Other content includes sketches, ad campaigns, editorials, and images of over 95 runway shows. Proving that they’re tech savvy even after retirement, Valentino and Giammetti are going to launch the museum on Youtube and offer a sneak peek seen above.
