Victoria Day shopping in Victoria

For the Victoria Day long weekend, it seemed fitting for me to head to, well, Victoria. Before a stop at my favourite taco stand, Red Fish Blue Fish (the spicy Pacific tacones are to DIE for), I popped into Charlie & Lee (charlieandlee.com), where I chatted with owner Josh Michnik about fashion, business, food, and life on the sunny island.

After seeing some of the brands we covered in our Summer issue, I was also delighted to learn that I no longer have to shell out the $60 BC Ferries fare ($120 round trip! Come on now!) to score some new duds—the company’s online store has officially launched. With a full range of brands that include Seneca Rising (love the Cassidy dress shown here, $125), Malin + Goetz, Alex & Ani, Kova & T, Ella Moss, and Only Hearts (the Venice lace bralette is seriously amazing), I can already hear my bank account balance screeching to a big, fat zero. But hey, if I’m going to be broke, I might as well look cute doing it.
