Exaggerated silhouettes, unexpected layers and boundary-breaking dresses — Vancouver Fashion Week (VFW) lit up the runway with six days of style that didn’t just entertain its audience, but cemented the city’s status as one of Canada’s most fashionable destinations.
From April 8–13, David Lam Hall became the beating heart of Vancouver’s fashion scene as VFW returned with 40 designers showcasing their Fall 2025 collections. A bi-annual event, this season brought together dozens of local and international couturiers from fresh-faced newcomers to seasoned pros. And they didn’t just show clothes—they shared an inside look into their sartorial psyche.
Take Reihani Design by Afsaneh Reihanifard, for example. Her designs transformed her fashion illustrations into clothing that highlights her Iranian culture. Then there was Lianos by Isabella Lianos, who played with the tensions between harmony and contrast — crafting a series of looks that played with the power of duality. And let’s talk about Astrophe Apparel — the brainchild of an 18-year-old self-taught designer, whose “04-A” collection presented a thoughtful commentary on the realities of war.
And the future of fashion? It’s already here. The student showcases from LaSalle College brought innovation and edge, with experimental silhouettes and deeply personal storytelling that made it clear: these young designers are ones to watch
