Tiffany & Co. Celebrates 150 Years of Beautiful Timepieces

Tiffany & Co. knows the value of time better than most. It’s why Charles Lewis Tiffany decorated his Fifth Avenue store with an almost-three-metre Atlas clock in 1853. It’s why the jeweller launched the Tiffany Timer, America’s first stopwatch, in 1866. And it’s why Tiffany’s has continued to invest in innovative and imaginative timepieces for the past century.

All of this horological history (and more!) was on display this past January in New York City and Paris for LVMH Watch Week 2025. Marking its first foray into the invite-only event, Tiffany & Co. reaffirmed its timepiece authority with an exhibition dedicated to its 150-year history. The story of Tiffany tickers was told through a tour of its historic creations, dating from the 1870s to the end of the 1930s. Definitive dazzlers included an Apple Blossom Lapel Watch from the Exposition Universelle de 1889 in Paris and a gold, diamond and sapphire wristwatch from the New York World Fair of 1939 and 1940. But the crown jewel was undoubtedly a pocket watch from 1912 that belonged to Captain Arthur Henry Rostron, who used his ship to rescue 700 passengers from the Titanic. Jack could never.

Fast-forward a few decades (and Leonardo DiCaprio films) and Tiffany & Co. has added five new watches to its artistic arsenal. The majority of the 2025 offering belongs to its Jean Schlumberger collection, which takes its inspiration from the famous creative director and emblematic Bird on a Rock brooch. But there are other additions that suggest the luxury brand’s horological ambitions extend well beyond raiding its archives. Think a new wisteria-infused wristwatch and a high-jewellery timepiece that is Tiffany’s most audacious yet.

Looking to witness this wrist candy first-hand? Here, we’ve curated some decadent details for your enjoyment. After all, time may be a construct, but Tiffany & Co.’s latest watches are indisputably tangible—and exceptionally impressive.

Some watches blend in, while others stand out. This one is undoubtedly in the latter category. Inspired by the yellow Tiffany Diamond, this extraordinary timepiece boasts 897 diamonds totalling over 29 carats and a single 35-carat aquamarine. As this work of art took more than 315 hours to create, don’t expect to see it just anywhere: There’s only one in existence, making it a true original.

Punctuated by one of the brand’s most memorable motifs, this Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany watch has no shortage of sparkle—or whimsy. While the dial alone is decorated with 166 diamonds, it’s the 36 rotating tsavorites encircling the face that truly distinguish this ticker, adding a dynamic splash of green that elevates its design to something extraordinary.

Sure, this timepiece is gorgeous at a glance, but the real beauty lies in the details. To create its stained-glass effect—which pays homage to Tiffany Studios’s iconic Wisteria lamp—each piece of enamel is applied by hand using a plique-à-jour technique to let in light. This results in a mesmerizing kaleidoscopic effect that enriches the colours and adds extra shine to the 709 diamonds.
