They said/We said: Faux-fans are holding vigil outside Dash to mourn the death of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries 72-day marriage

Three Vera Wang wedding dresses, $400,000 of Perrier Jouet Champagne, a four-hour TV special on E!, and a star-studded guest list still doesn’t mean till death do us part. After just 72 days of marriage Kim Kardashian is filing for divorce from Kris Humphries.

After an over-the-top wedding where everything from the cake to the invitations were freebies—not to mention all the dough they raked in from the actual ceremony and his-and-her bachelor and bachelorette parties, $17.9 million and $50,000 respectively—Kardashian has cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation, and requested that Humphries pay for his own legal bills. The news comes just days after Jenna Lyons filed for divorce, which unlike Kim’s split, is actually shocking. There’s no word yet if Keeping Up With the Kardashians will cover the divorce but we’re betting there’ll be some sort of E! special. Meanwhile, Buzzfeed has managed to organize a faux vigil outside the Dash Soho location in New York. There have been endless hilarious tweets from the event but at post time, the cops had been called.

THEY SAID…

Kim Kardashian: “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage. I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” [E! News]

@KhloeKardashian: “Thank God for family. We are strong and we will only become closer! I love YOU” [Twitter]

@danjlevy: “Looking forward to Kim’s Fairy Tale Divorce. A 2 year long E! special event.” [Twitter]

@Buzzfeed: NYC, Vigil at the Dash Store for Kim and Kris’ marriage. Come by at 4:15!!! [Twitter]

WE SAID…

Paige Dzenis, associate online editor: “Poor Kim Kardashian—because you know she was already planning for a divorce before she walked down the aisle. And really, what does it say about you when Courtney Stodden can make a ‘marriage’ last longer?”
