The free gift of yoga at the Olympics

My yoga instructor prefaces every class with a standard “this is not a competition” spiel, but honestly, given how enthusiastic we Vancouverites are about our downward dogs, I’m surprised it’s not an official Olympic sport.

That said, Lululemon (lululemon.com/giftofyoga)—arbiter of all things yoga—has partnered with YYoga (yyoga.ca) to ensure that as many people in the city continue to practice their warrior poses during the Games (or, by February 28, their savasanas). Since February 5, Lululemon stores across Vancouver and Whistler have been handing out fobs and passes for Gift of Yoga classes (read: unlimited, free yoga!) at all six YYoga locations in B.C. The passes can be used anytime between February 12-28, by both residents and visitors (meaning if they didn’t already, the whole world will soon know about both companies). And to combat all those whinging, would-be yoginis who will claim they can’t practice because they didn’t pack their mats, Y also has everything you need (minus clothes—but that’s what Lululemon’s here for) for rent.
