Swathe your walls in Westwood
When daydreaming of ourselves covered in Vivienne Westwood, we envision a Gwen Stefani take rather than the dame’s muse du jour, Pamela Anderson. Once out of our reverie, we’d be just as happy to find ourselves staring at the wall if it was draped in Westwood’s new wallpaper, which seems too Debbie Travis a term for the beautiful coverings she’s made for Cole & Son. Her “Trompe L’oeil Drape,” (shown right) an optical illusion using the tartan the designer is known for, looks ruched and layered like the wedding dress she created for her Fall ’94 collection. The playful “Vivienne’s Lace” (top left) was hand drawn by the designer and features her signature worked into the loopy print. Those who still feel wallpaper should be a floral affair should look to the Depeche Mode “Violator”–like dark blooms of “Absence of Rose” (bottom left) If Westwood’s prints can cover as large a space as Anderson’s rack, we’re sure they’ll successfully swathe your salon.
