Summer lovin’

Tanned and glowing after a trip to the tropics, I was finally ready to take in some serious summer culture when I showed up at Sophie Calle’s opening cocktail party at DHC/ART, my new favorite art hangout. What a party! Everyone was there: the artists, the fashionistas (many of them flaunting gorgeous Renata Morales dresses), the colorful students. Yes, a real Paris-style happening. The cherry on the cake: a surprise concert by Feist. You weren’t there? Just don’t miss the exhibition, it’s phenomenal.

During the Jazz fest, Montreal felt like a huge party and I had a blast at Lee Scratch Perry and the Wailers’ reggae show. Can’t wait to see what’s on the menu for next year. Meanwhile, check out the festival Juste Pour Rire and the Francopholies and get your dose of culture and fun!

Foodies need to book a cooking class at Raza, where chef extraordinaire Mario Navarette Jr. whips up inventive concoctions inspired by Nuevo Latino cooking. And if you still haven’t been, book a lunch at Chasse et Pêche’s garden lunch spot (280 Notre-Dame St., East, 514 861-1112). Sip some champagne and suck on some oysters and just enjoy. It’s the summer!
