There are two types of students in this world: those who are super stoked to head back to class and those who are seriously bummed that summer is coming to a close. If you’re eager for school to start (like me!), you’re probably looking forward to those back-to-school sales. And if you’re not excited for class (also like me — OK, so maybe there’s a third type of student with mixed emotions), you’re still probably excited for those back-to-school sales.
But not all sales have to stop once October rolls around. You’ve likely heard of the SPC Card. For $11, this loyalty card offers students discounts and deals (offers vary, but most are between 10% to 15% off) at thousands of stores (and restaurants!) across Canada, including Aldo, American Eagle Outfitters, Forever 21, Joe Fresh, Topshop, Urban Outfitters and the list goes on.
But there are also several stores---not listed on the SPC Card---that offer great year-round deals for students. Did you know that Kate Spade offers student discounts? Many stores offer price cuts to students who are able to show a valid student ID, but they’re not quick to advertise it. Our advice? Just ask.
In case you’re shy, we’ve rounded up 5 stores that guarantee year-round education pricing:
J. Crew: Offers a 15% discount to all post-secondary students when they shop in-store and show a valid school ID at checkout.
Club Monaco: Offers 20% off full-price and sale merchandise in stores and online to post-secondary students. Exclusions apply.
Kate Spade: Offers 15% off in-store purchases when students present a valid school ID at checkout.
Ann Taylor: Offers 15% off purchases made in-store and online.
Roots: Offers students 20% off regular-priced items and 10% off sale items.
