Remember in grade school when you and your bestie dressed like twins? Yep, this was trending long before Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid hit the scene in their matchy-matchy designer looks. When I was 12, my friend Kelly and I bought the same swimsuit—a one-piece with an abstract fish design on the front—to debut on the dock at summer camp. Two blondes plotting to make a splash. Our twist? Mine was hot pink and Kelly’s was white. It’s a fashion moment seared in my mind—like all great street style looks, it gave us insta-access to the cool girls’ club. We had gold member status at camp—for a few days, anyway, until someone else showed up in a barely-there bikini and stole our thunder.
