Street style, Toronto: 22 snaps from the first day of Spring 2016 fashion week

The first day of WMCFW proved it was not to be overshadowed, despite having to contend with a Federal election and a very important (home) game 3 for the Toronto Blue Jays. With homegrown talents Sid Neigum and Mikhael Kale debuting their Spring 2016 collections on the first day, there was a lot of hype surrounding the tents.

As the temperatures continue to dip (ugh), Canadian fashion lovers embraced statement coats as their main focus. And when pops of colours were MIA, structure took over. Black may have been a heavy contender for most featured colour, but cozy furs and printed frocks still made many an appearance.

And if anything else is to be learned from the first day of the shows, it’s that your arms should never actually enter the sleeves of your jacket. Ever.
