As Paris Fashion Week comes inches towards a close for Spring 2014, Mother Nature has provided us with cloudy grey skies. The silver lining, however, is that that ominous shade serves as the perfect backdrop for trendsetters to flaunt their outfits du jour.

Yesterday, fashion week’s street style stars embraced two divergent colour palettes. Half of them have a penchant all things monochrome, interweaving delicate fabrics with bold, edgy prints and textures. Elena Perminova had legs for miles in a black Chanel bell dress that looked like a starry night sky in reverse. Hip hop star Ciara channeled the black and white look as well in a pretty lace get-up outside Valentino.

At the other end of the spectrum, trendsetters embraced everything in technicolour. Stylist Elisa Nalin, wore a polished nude, knee- length trench coat which acted as a blank canvas for the starkly thick, blued hued vertical bands of turquoise and navy to make their statement. Props to the blonde beauty in Mary Katrantzou Spring 2014 who was a vision, to say the least.

To colour or not to colour seemed the question of the day.
