If you need a refresher lesson in colour 101, look no further than this past weekend’s round up of style snaps from Paris Fashion Week. Standing out amidst the fashion week crowd is no easy task, especially when it includes street style mainstays like Anna Dello Russo, Giovanna Battaglia, Chiara Ferragni and this adorable North West lookalike. But if there was a sure-fire way to get your street style peers and photographers to turn your way, colourful accessories and outfits are the way to go.

New to the game or rarely stray away from your neutrals in the wardrobe department? Bold-coloured accessories and coats are an effortless way to give your outfit a bit of pizazz. You can either pile on same-hued bags, sunglasses and coats for a snap-worthy look, but if you want to keep it simple, Leandra Medine proves that a pair of Dorothy-approved red ruby shoes teamed with her monochromatic outfit makes just as much of a statement.

Speaking of head-to-toe monochromatic looks, this too makes for a fun way to stand out, especially when you choose to go with colours you can find in your box of M&Ms. Fuchsia pink or mustard yellow suits will make anyone do a double take, but if you’re ready to up the ante, colour-blocking outfits are a great way to get noticed. We loved the way this purple fur coat was paired with a burnt-orange dress, as well as this standout yellow and teal look. Brownie points for not only rocking retro rollerblades but also swiping teal eyeshadow on her eyelids for that extra pop.
