Street Style, New York: 33 photos featuring Doutzen Kroes, Carine Roitfeld, Michelle Harper and some new faces to watch outside the Fall 2013 shows
Fashion’s fixations were back for another day of street style action outside Fall 2013’s edition New York Fashion Week, and while the usual suspects were out in full force to see big name collections including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan, there are quite a few new darlings that are catching our eye.
Case in point: Our new favourite gal, Shine by Three blogger Margaret Zhang who looked ripe for the ‘80s-era Wall Street picking in grey suited layers. Obviously a fan of plaid, we photographed her wearing the same pattern in Friday’s street style batch alongside a few more layers of grungy goodness. Watch that face. Another new beauty, Natasha Goldenberg, whose matador-meets-Frida Kahlo-meets-Dries Van Noten look had us all abuzz. Save for the cell phone, she looks like a snapshot of another time we’d really like travel to.
But let’s get back to the regulars, shall we? In a more laid back get up than we’re usually used to seeing her in, Miroslava Duma lit up the grey day in a multicolour thick knit sweater worn with a multi-layered Tom Binns-style necklace and a see-through bejeweled Shourouk shoulder bag. Michelle Harper was back too, sporting the Samurai-gone-punk she began last show season, complete with larger than life dangle earrings and Cupid’s bow dark lips. Hanne Gaby Odiele proved that she’s one of the hardest working women in the biz, caught mid-jog by our photographer Stefania Yarhi. Doutzen Kroes and husband Sunnery James were spotted too, looking every bit genetically perfected as they should.
