Street style, London Fashion Week: 28 print-happy shots from Spring 2016’s latest stop

This weekend saw the fashion set packing up shop in NYC and jetting off to London town, bringing with them an influx of wild and wacky prints (as one does). With designers like Christopher Kane and Mary Katrantzou on the schedule, London Fashion Week is always a smorgasbord of the industry’s more unconventional voices, with abetting crowds usually reflecting these sentiments in their own outfits. Houndstooth, checks, paisley, and florals were all worn in conjunction with equally whimsical accessories. From fuzzy, bug-eyed bags to scarves worn as slings to multifarious layered shirts, showgoers were keen to subscribe to the more-is-more mantra.

Poppy Delevingne made an appearance on behalf of the British glitterati, dressed to the nines in a pale pink gauzy dress and fur-trimmed coat slung casually over her arm. Kristina Bazan, co-founder of Swiss lifestyle blog Kayture, stepped out in a pale blue coat, miniature bag, and strappy nude heels, giving us all kinds of Kate Middleton vibes. Veronika Heilbrunner’s penchant for tough chick kicks paired with girlie frocks followed her across the pond, as she paired a fuzzy mohair knit with black, high top sneakers. Meanwhile, fellow canucks Odessa Paloma Parker and Preetma Singh lit up the streets with their quirky print love.

Other notable trends to surface included a proliferation of sumptuous fabrics, such as pooling velvet suits and silver lamé skirts. Tiered lace tea dresses were given an edge with over-the-knee, lace up suede boots, while denim was re-worked into unexpected silhouettes with fraying hems. Street style staples like Stella McCartney’s creeper platforms and Chloé’s Drew bag were also in heavy rotation (for those of us who don’t have thousands of dollars to burn but would like to try and approximate these looks for ourselves, see here, here, and Bob’s your uncle)!
