When does a flagship stop being a place to shop and start being a place to be? Apparently, when Mercedes-Benz moves in.

The 140-year-old German automaker has just unveiled Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto inside Holt Renfrew’s Bloor Street flagship, and it’s unlike anything the brand has done before: an immersive space built around fashion, design, craftsmanship and performance rather than simply putting cars on display.

The most interesting luxury shopping spaces have become destinations in their own right, blending retail with culture, food, design and experiences that can’t be replicated online. Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto embraces that philosophy. More than a place to admire Mercedes-Benz vehicles, the space works like a thoughtfully curated concept store, where fashion, tactile details and immersive installations invite visitors to linger. Pick up a coffee at the Reigning Champ Holts Café, wander through the installations, take a closer look at the craftsmanship and let the experience unfold.

Better yet, it’s designed to evolve. Rather than remaining static, the Studio will transform through three distinct creative concepts over the course of 2026, each introducing new collaborators, fresh design perspectives and a completely different atmosphere, giving customers a reason to return.

The opening chapter serves up a dose of tenniscore, drawing inspiration from the sporty performance of Mercedes-AMG and the enduring appeal of racquet culture. At the centre is a fashion residency from Vancouver-founded label Reigning Champ, whose understated sportswear has long blurred the lines between athletic performance and everyday style. The partnership feels fitting. Both brands are rooted in precision and craftsmanship, proving that great design (whether it’s a performance vehicle built with Formula 1 DNA or a perfectly cut sweatshirt) is all about the details.

It’s also a clever nod to a cultural moment. Tennis has become one of fashion’s biggest style influences, with crisp whites, varsity stripes and country-club polish showing up everywhere from the runway to street style. Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto taps into that energy, creating an environment that feels as considered as the clothes themselves.

That same attention to detail carries through to the Studio’s MANUFAKTUR Atelier, a dedicated space showcasing Mercedes-Benz’s bespoke personalization program. Premium leathers, curated finishes and an expansive material library are all on display, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the level of customization available to clients. Whether it’s the G-Class, with more than a million possible MANUFAKTUR combinations that transform the iconic SUV into a true canvas for self-expression, or the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+ Roadster, tailored like a champion and finished in Wimbledon-worthy white, proving that high performance never has to sacrifice style, the program is designed to make every vehicle feel uniquely personal. Sure, at first glance it reads like a beautifully designed installation, but spend a few minutes with it and it becomes a reminder that luxury often lives in the details you can touch, compare and personalize.

The experience doesn’t end inside the Studio, either. From July 23-26, visitors can also book public Mercedes-AMG test drives, offering the chance to experience the brand’s signature performance before returning to browse the fashion residency, explore the design installations or simply soak in the atmosphere.

Find Mercedes-Benz Studio Toronto inside Holt Renfrew at 50 Bloor Street West and consider this your invitation to stay awhile.
