I was once in New York at the Spring/Summer 2016 Ann Taylor Preview on a very rainy fall day when I saw the light in the form of navy, suede, block heels. I’m a truly impractical person when it comes to fashion and even more so when it comes to shoes, but the instant I saw these suede saviours I knew they were the solution to my summer wedding circuit (and the perfect pairing with my deep blue Self-Portrait dress). If you’re anything like me and had seven weddings to attend last summer with another five this summer (don’t even get me started on the 2017 wedding season, I think the tally is at five already!) then you know shoes are a major challenge.

Those insta worthy shots of vineyards and harvest tables set in sunshine and grass are not a welcoming place for your favourite stilettos. The key to wedding footwear is a low or thick heel that won’t puncture the soft ground and will keep you steady after a few drinks.
