Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has one of the most exciting wardrobes in the NBA. The Toronto native and Oklahoma Thunder point guard has a closet stocked with Chrome and Louis Vuitton. His tunnel walks have featured such outré choices as the tongue-in-cheek cartoonish Big Red Boots by MSCHF, graphic knits from Kapital and a slouchy, monochrome streetwear outfit topped with a fur coat. He says his style “comes naturally,” so it’s no wonder he’s been crowned Fashion King of the NBA—an honour that’s been followed by another sartorial milestone: his own apparel collaboration with Canada Goose.
Though Gilgeous-Alexander has been a global brand ambassador for the Canadian luxury outerwear brand since 2024, this year marks his first shoppable collection with the label. Each piece is very Shai-coded: the vest, pants and parka are all named after one of his signature moves on the court like The Fade and The Isolation. “My goal was to blend Canada Goose’s heritage with my style,” says Gilgeous-Alexander, “we reworked classic pieces to feel authentic, versatile, and bold, rooted in where I’m from and how I move.”

The Isolation Tactical Vest is a coveted standout: only 100 pieces were made for the collection. This take features MOLLE webbing (which stands for modular lightweight load-carrying equipment) most commonly used in military gear for its versatility. The cropped, black Fade parka has no shortage of roomy pockets and a cinchable waist, while the Stock tactical pant features zips at the knees for added freedom of movement and individual styling riffs. When asked, Gilgeous-Alexander is reluctant to pick a favourite piece, “each stands on its own, but fits the bigger picture,” he says.
When talking about his personal closet, the player says “it’s not so much about size but about what’s in it.” Elaborating on this, he says it’s about pieces that work with his lifestyle—tunnel walks included. That philosophy extends to his work with Canada Goose. “I wanted this collection to feel like me. Effortless, but intentional. Every piece serves a purpose, whether I’m on the road, walking into the arena, or relaxing at home.”

For Gilgeous-Alexander, having true style isn’t about labels or trend-chasing, but “finding pieces that feel authentic and let you show up as you.” Just don’t ask him for fashion tips, “everyone has their own style,” he says, noting that he’s reluctant to give clothing advice to his teammates, “What works for me might not work for them, so I just let them do their thing.”
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s collaboration with Canada Goose drops on October 7.
